Roxton Church of England Academy

In faith we learn and grow together

Admissions

Our arrangements for the admission of pupils follow the general principles laid down in the School Standards and Framework Act 1998.

Once registered with our school and having been offered a place, children may start in the Foundation class the September following their 4th birthday. Children will be invited in for introductory sessions in liaison with their parents.

If your child has not attended our pre-school; prior to your child starting school our Foundation teacher will arrange a home visit in July before starting in September. This visit enables children to meet us in their own surroundings, and gives parents the opportunity to talk to us about their child and ask any questions that they might have. Parents are also invited to the school (whilst their child attends a ‘taster’ session) to meet and talk with the Headteacher and Foundation teacher.

In year transfers

If you are looking to transfer your child from another school, please contact your local authority as well as the school to ensure the correct procedure is followed.

Parents wishing to send their child to Roxton are welcome to visit the school to see the children at work, meet the staff and ask any questions they may have. Visits can be arranged by telephoning the school office (01234 870230).
